These Hispanic leaders triumph despite economy

Mahatma Ghandi once said that every worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. That most certainly rings true to those on PODER’s list of top 100 Hispanic entrepreneurs, men and women in vastly different industries, including telecommunications, healthcare, real estate, automotive, construction, food, petroleum, insurance, technology, and service. Despite the diversity of their fields, the entrepreneurs recognized here have in common an unwavering vision, dedication to excellence and determination to succeed. The 2009 list is especially significant given the economic hardship faced by nearly every sector in the U.S. After researching several hundred companies, we present, in order of revenue size, PODER’s Top 100 Hispanic Entrepreneurs. We also spotlight the top leaders in each industry. The list includes of both new and familiar names, chosen based on factors that include entrepreneurial ingenuity, leadership, revenue and growth.
